In this page, we'll discuss the assets used in Saving The Michi AR that helped to finish the game and what changes had to be done in order to fix the challenges presented during the development phase.
Unity's Asset Store
As already marked in the Gameplay section, the asset used was Free chibi cat asset, it has simple animations such as idle, walk, sit (the cat sits), sitting (the cat remains seated) and miau.
The original game asset can also be seen in the Gameplay section, previously mentioned. But for the reader's commodity, we'll explain again here what was used.
Content of the Free Chibi Cat Asset
When the asset is installed in your project, you will count with several files to use, as shown in the following image:
Issues found in the downloaded Asset
The process of importing and installing the asset in the project went well, however, the first problem we faced, was that our cat was completely pink, it looked nothing to what was offered or expected in the downloaded asset.
In this video tutorial, you can find how the pink material issue was solved. It's in Spanish, but there is no need to know Spanish to fully understand the solution explained in the video. The context is clear.
Content of the Herron Asset
Another asset downloaded from the Unity's Asset Store, was the herron, which will be the "projectile" used to feed our michis in the game.
In this case, we used the "Quirky Series - FREE Animals Pack", which can be found in this link. As you can see, the package contains much more animals, but since we only wanted to use the fish (a herring) to feed our cats, it was selected only the files related to the herring.
The pink material issue was also found in this package, which also was solved by implementing the steps shown in the video introduced in the Chibi Cat Asset.
